An insult to local content
Why is an English show better than our own locally-produced show with local people of the calibre of Lily, David and Richard? This is an insult to Australian-produced TV, SBS - for shame!

Letters and Numbers was the only show that entire families could sit and watch and enjoy together, all interacting and sharing the fun and competition. This program used to lead us on to the SBS News, which we also watched.

Now it has been 'rested' (what an insult that is! You think we don't realise you mean 'AXED'??) there is nothing like that for us to share and so the TV stays off at 6pm until we watch the ABC News (no longer watching SBS) at 7pm.

We won't be watching Destination Food - what a waste of Lily's considerable intellectual talents to have her as a 'talking head' on a cooking show!

Listen to your audience for a change, SBS, and put Letters and Numbers back on!

Letters and Numbers
The end of Letters and Numbers has left a huge void in our family's early evening entertainment. It was, simply, head and shoulders above everything else. The show is as mentally stimulating as it is quaint and corny, not to mention visually compelling(and I'm not talking about David or Richard).

I can't believe they have stopped making this show. It gave my 11 year old a great reason to learn his times tables (I had plenty of them, but none of them interested him until L & N came along). Poor form SBS :(

2 years wasted
Letters and Numbers became my favourite show the first time I saw it. The combination of a show requiring intellect plus the harking back to an earlier time where the female host had to put up the numbers and letters just clicked with me. I have spent two years learning my 75x tables with a view to going onto the show and now have nothing to show for it except great memories.

Last night Rugby League had it's pinnacle event. Yet, no sporting event, in my view, has ever come close to the technique, talent, pressure, skill and excitement of the October 2011 final.

And for a cryptic crossword fan who had previously hated and eschewed "DA" crosswords I felt that I had become his close friend, even though I don't many answers to his puzzles.

Bring it Back!!!!!!

Don't let Letters and Numbers go. This is such a valuable program. My elderly parents watch every day and they say it is improves their mathematics and word skills. It is such a brain-trainer. For once, let's retain a program that absolutely benefits people.

Have Lily David and Richard been offered Federal Govt Seats Lily treasurer David Education Richard Speaker Three of the most amiable people on TV The management of SBS should go back to management school ( if they went there before ) Their lack of recognising one of the best (if not the best)educational shows to be presented on Australian television. This petition to reinstate the show should be accellerated (one L or two where,s David? )For those people who live in Sydney perhaps a blockade of SBS,s studios . The three people Lily David & Richard have the talent and ability to reach the same status of Les Murray and Craig Foster for SBS viewers .... Shame Shame Shame

Why why why?? Is SBS planning to put something in its place thats more interesting, cheaper to produce, more educational, better for kids; what?? Surely we won't get dumped with something similar but ethnic, ie British? That would surely be the ultimate insult!

SBS dumbing itself down
Letters & Numbers has been such a refreshing change in Australian-produced television and can surely not have been a significant drain on SBS resources. Oh dear - a show the whole family can enjoy together, a show without hype, sex or scandal, a show which stimulates viewers to think! Better get rid of it quickly!
SBS has definitely suffered from dumbing down with this move.
