it might work to boycott the advertisers
Please save letters and numbers- best show on TV- and the only Australian one with a bit of intellectual content. We could write to the advertisers and tell them we will boycott their products unless SBS Australian version of Letter and Numbers back. People are so tired of recycled overseas content- why would any advertiser want to be associated with one more UK product, when they could be associated with a wonderful Australian show?

Letters and Numbers
Have hardly missed an episode of Letters & Numbers, a terrific way to keep the mind active whilst, at the same time, admiring David and Lily, with the program expertly chaired by Richard. I watched it in London where it was called "Countdown" and was very pleased when the format came here but why do we want a British version when the Australian one is so very good. Most "quizzes" on our television are full of glitz and high value prizes, Letters and Numbers is proof you don't have to do this to be a high quality, entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable half hour each day. Please reconsider your decision to end Letters and Numbers.

Save Letters and Numbers
Both my husband and I love this show.....one of the few shows we enjoy watching together. Enjoy solving the problems and enjoy the company of the cast. I hope that you will reconsider.

Save Letters & numbers
SBS has been a champion of providing Australian TV of integrity since its inception. This program is a wonderful example in that tradition.

It is a rare Australian TV program that allows a high level of audience participation, engaging us in the fortunes of the participants while allowing us to take our brains for a gentle jog each evening.

Please reconsider this ill advised decision.

inmates in gaol
There are many illiterate people in gaol and when i was there we started a LAN group to help increase literacy and numeracy skills. It was also useful to those for whom english is not a first language. And i personally enjoyed the challengers that letters and numbers gave.

Big mistake SBS
Not a good decision. Local content, I can't imagine its costly to produce, and so many people of all ages love it and look forward to the start of the evening with a bit of a brain challenge. How does it rate for SBS? Is it one of their higher rating programmes? I think reconsidering would be an excellent option.

Please SBS reconsider your decision to axe Letters and Numbers. What a delight to see people stretching their brains for the joy of playing and a dictionary - whether you win or lose! It is great to play along with this charismatic team who are welcome into our home each night to keep me company while I cook dinner. It makes no sense to think that showing a Bristish version would be as engaging as our own distinctly Australian one.

Extremely Disappointed
My husband and I look forward to this show every night. We enjoy the challenge. Richard , David and Lily are a delight. I can't believe SBS are axing such a popular and successful show.

Please don't axe Letters and Numbers
I can't believe Letters and Numbers is to be replaced by the English version, Countdown. The joy of our own version is not just in the format itself but the wonderful witty, unpretentious banter between Richard, David and Lily and with the contestants. This is one of my favourite shows. It's a rare bird. And now we are to have another import from the UK when free-to-air TV already has so much, dare I say too much imported content. I love our Letters and Numbers and the team - it's so special. I hope SBS reconsiders the decision to let it end.
