Crying Shame
Everyone I know enjoyed the show. The camaraderie was palpable and they are three extremely personable and skilled people. I hope SBS has enough sense and gumption to realise they've made a mistake but somehow I doubt it. I can't believe it was a cost cutting measure so what WAS the logic behind cancelling a winner?

I loved Letters and numbers and so do my husband and grandchildren. No razzamattaz or bells and whistles but a thinking person's program. We thoroughty enjoyed pitting ourselves against the contestants. What is SBS thinking and why replace it with an English program instead of one with Australian content. Bring back Lily, David and Richard.

What on earth are SBS thinking of dropping such a tremendous show? Bugger the News (or what ever show that will replace it), Letters and Numbers is a genuinely loved program!

Bring 'Letters and Numbers' back
I am dismayed at the apparent decision by SBS to replace the local 'Letters and Numbers' with a UK import. We have grown to love Richard, David and Lily and their wonderful blend of erudition and fun and marvel at the skills of our local competitors. I don't want an imported version of the show when we have a perfect local version running like clockwork here. How could another version bring together such a curly haired captain of crosswords as David, a sexy number-wrangling genius as Lily and a proper but playful master of ceremonies as Richard? Please SBS, change your mind on this silly decision to save yourself further embarassment and before you lose even more fans of the show.

Worst SBS decision ever
Like some others, I too received the stock answer when I wrote to SBS to complain about this truly stupid decision. The contempt for viewers is palpable. Can a petition help? I really don't know because I suspect that this level of contempt is impervious to the pleas of disaffected viewers. However, I really feel so powerless and the only thing to do seems to be signing this petition. Obviously I will not be able to get past the SBS gatekeepers to the decision-makers. I had been steeling myself for the interruption to the show caused by the Tour de France, but to find out so abruptly that there was to be no more felt like a huge kick in the guts.

Please return Letters and Numbers
Letters and Numbers is absolutely the best show on TV and nearly the only one I watch. The hosts are perfect, the books are excellent and normally people who have a particular interest in mathematics have very little to no chance to engage with mathematics TV shows. The show is great for both TV viewers and game participants. Why axe a TV show that is so outstanding and successful? Letters and Numbers is excellent for individual mental agility for all ages and certainly should aid in helping the older viewers to maintain if not improve their numerical and spelling skills. Please return Letters and Numbers with the existing hosts Lily, David and Richard.

Mad decision
This was such a refreshing show when we're bombarded with often crass, mindless, narcissistic, LOUD programs. Witty and clever, a gem. Richard, David and Lily seemed to genuinely enjoy working together and I was in awe of the wordsmith David, maths whiz Lily and Richard's effortless charm as host. Why let it go?

Don't do it
Is this a budget decision? That would be hard to believe - the most modest game show on TV. Must be that the price of dictionaries has gone up. And always a pleasure to watch the competition.

Confused
But why?
Why would you do this to such a great show? Did SBS take a poll?
