Letters and Numbers "resting" sad day for Australian Public
I feel like wearing a black armband at the "resting" of letters and numbers. My name appears at the bottom of Morag Williams' entry; a friend of mine. We just sent an email to formal complaints at SBS. Probably just get another generated reply; but I outlined that SBS is only containing repeats, and my general disgust.

I sent one the other day and just got a dismissive reply; the same as they would send to everybody.

Stupid decision by SBS
SBS,

I am beginning to question the sanity of SBS management.

I can't add anything further than what everybody else has said, that it was wholesome good fun, and why does Lily get a job and nobody else? Very transparent; and I'd like to know how cheap this Destination Flavour show will be when Lily must be transported. Presumably to foreign climes. A lot more expensive I would say than three people (with two unnecessary, and fruitless stylists). I will not be watching Lily Serna's new show, as the bile rising in my throat would not permit it. You have reduced the amount of shows I watch on SBS now to one, Shameless, which can never be relied on to be screened; there are years between screenings.

Why don't you cut the two newsreaders to one, only send Julia Zemiro to Eurovision and make cuts elsewhere. And the Tour de Boring does not have to be on every evening; nor does the soccer. Why must we endure the bicycle tedium on normal SBS -- why is it not relegated to one of the other channels you have, 32 or 33? You are showing NO RESPECT for your viewers, who are paying your wages through advertising.

Don't expect of flog many of your Letters and Numbers books. would not buy any on principle.

Why mess with a great formula to try and hoodwink your public? Resting indeed. What about all the other rubbish you screen, like repeated outings of Inspector Rex -- the new ones finish and you put the old ones on again, the annoying Bear Grylls and Heston Blumenthal?

I know I've wasted my time as you don't give a damn about your viewers.

Rubbish decision.

* I suppose you will just send me the annoying generated reply that means nothing.

Why axe a show which is educative and entertaining. Isn't TV low brow enough already. All my family watch and it inspires us to play Scrabble/Cards etc. Please leave it on Public Broadcaster

Terrible shame
What a terrible shame - it was such a pleasure to watch this show - simple, fun, educational with no big prizes or greed. Such a contrast to many other game shows full of glitz and money and suspense. Well done to Richard, Lily and David - it was a terrific show and should continue so that people of ALL ages (kids to elderly) can enjoy it. It is also very therapeutic for those with head injuries to watch and particiapte in, those with memory problems etc. A terrible shame and SBS should definitely reconsider this unwise decision.

Save Letters & Numbers
What a wonderful program this is. Not only does it stretch our minds and keep them agile, it is great fun as well. And what a wonderfully entertaining they are - there is real rapport between Richard, Lily and David. We look forward to watching L&N every weekday evening and pitting ourselves against some of the best. Whatever you do, DON'T PUT ON ANOTHER COOKING SHOW - WE ARE ALL COOKED TO DEATH.

Bring back letters and numbers
This show was a TV highlight. I would dash back from work every day to see it, it was a huge family favourite. Superbly orchestrated with Lilly and David providing huge intellectual enjoyment and Richard managing the show brilliantly. This so-called resting is simply tragic, please reconsider.

Great show, perfect timeslot, excellent crew. What was the matter? Was it doing too well?

Letters and numbers
I have only just heard that the program has been taken off!!!
I am amazed that such a popular and intelligent concept, hosted by three amazing presenters, has been shafted. A very poor decision by some philistine somewhere. The end of a looked-for evening at 6pm. Poor decision indeed.

You can't be serious SBS
Do SBS actually realise what a popular show they had? In last week's SMH(25/6/12) Letters and Numbers was listed in the top 20 of the best shows on TV at present. It is a show that is like no other on any other network. It interests a wide age range of viewers. It entertains as well as engages viewers. It demonstrates harmony between the contestants and presenters and makes you feel good after watching it. Is there a better formula than that? I'd like to see it! What are SBS thinking? Please say it isn't so SBS and reconsider your decision and bring back my favourite show! Buying the Letters and Numbers books just isn't the same as watching the show!!
