Help save Letters and Numbers

We, too, enjoyed this programme most nights, even recording it if we were out for the evening! Simple, educational and enjoyable and why must we have an imported product when the local production was so good. It can hardly be too expensive to produce. If anyone at SBS looks at this petition, please take note. Doreen of Adelaide is quite entitled to her opinion, but why is she spending the time looking at our comments when she has so much else to do?

Please listen to the voice of the people and bring this show back. Anything to make us think instead of the mindless pap that doubles as entertainment.

First of all: Thank you to everyone for your support and comments, and particularly to those who have further shared this site with others. One of the largest hurdles to overcome is simply getting the word to the viewers and supported of the show.

In response to Doreen's recent comment, and to similar sentiments expressed by others: SBS is extremely unlikely to respond here, nor should they be expected to. Any announcement from SBS will be over their official channels: The show's website, facebook page, and twitter account.

I am confident, however, that those empowered to determine the length of the show's resting period are either aware of this website or will have their attention brought to it in due course. Every comment here is another piece of supporting evidence that the show has a large and passionate viewer base, something that is rarely clear from ratings figures alone.

Which is to say: Although there will not be an official response here, the votes and comments from everyone so far, and from those in the future, are extremely important and will continue to be so. Please keep up the good work!

OK so the program is now off the air for reasons that SBS do not want to explain in full but PLEASE the time has come to get over your withdrawal problems and think back to what you did BEFORE L&N was shown. Go for a walk, read a book, eat your dinner, watch another program. get a grip on yourselves and GET A LIFE. The world has not stopped because there is no L&N, life, like television and radio programs are a constant change. What did you do before you had a computer etc? PLEASE EVERYONE GET A FRESH LIFE. Enough comments have been made here and SBS haven't bothered to put a reply here.

Talk about shoot yourselves in the foot! We always watched this excellent show and then stayed with SBS News. We can now go back to switching on at 7.00 for ABC News. Bye !

The best show on TV has disappeared. I looked forward to joining Richard, Lily and David 5 nights a week on a wonderful journey of testing my ability with/against them and the contestants. As the saying goes 'use it on loose it' roll on alzheimers.
What can be done to reinstate this wonderful program?

I haven't read any other columns or letters in support of Letters and Numbers. Please write to your newspaper and express your disappointment and frustration. I don't believe SBS is taking enough notice of us on this site. We need to make some noise and get our message to the masses.

you have had so many requests and negative comments about such a woeful decision to stop letters and numbers . WHEN IS SBS GOING TO RESPOND ???
Still- for all the people who write to you there are thousands who feel the same way and won't write . Do you take this into account, SBS execs???

I am at a loss as to why SBS would 'rest' such a fantastic programme. In stark contrast to the plethora of quiz shows that require minimal input for outrageous prizes, Letters and Numbers was a breath of fresh air. SBS please reconsider.

Why on earth would you axe Letters & Numbers, SBS, when this is a program which is enjoyed by so many people of different ages and backgrounds and was so popular. This is Australian content and erudite. We need this so please, please have some more series. We miss Lily, David and Richard. Pam
